Job Overview

We seek a Marketing Communications Specialist to focus on global marketing communications development for new product introductions and ongoing product portfolio support, with an emphasis on new commercial products and the portfolio areas of solid state drives, external and removable hard drives, and computer peripherals. Qualified candidates must be experienced in Communications and Public Relations, and have a passion for brand development and communications excellence.

Responsibilities
  • *** As integral members of the Global Brand Development and Marketing Communications team, Imation’s marketing communications specialists develop and implement industry-leading integrated branding and marketing communications strategies, plans, and tactics as part of the overall Imation Marketing Process. This includes but is not limited to communications required for product, program, or brand launches, joint marketing and development relationships, industry leadership positioning, and portfolio lifecycle support.
  • *** The Global Marketing Communications Specialist will work directly with Global Product Innovation and Strategy team to develop product marketing communications “tool kits,” including primary product launch kits to support new product introductions for both consumer and commercial products. Launch kits include product communications plans with product and portfolio messaging, press release and related media relations support materials, initial product support materials including sales sheets, product collateral, web copy, packaging copy, product user guides, reviewer guides, product photography, etc.
  • *** Responsible for the coordination and dissemination of product launch communications programs, and providing direction and communications assets to marketing communications counterparts in the regional brand organizations (including Americas, Asia-Pacific, Japan, and Europe regions).
  • *** Additionally for Commercial Products, plan and implement full branded product marketing communications support for the Americas market, collaborating with Americas channel team, including assessment of and participation in trade shows and industry events, online and offline advertising, direct marketing and social media strategies, public relations, expert speaking opportunities, and product award nominations.
  • *** Provide super-user administration of newly implemented Digital Asset Management database to ensure that brand and product asset library remain current and assets are readily available for use by global team members.
  • *** Develop and manage communications budgets for segment of responsibilities, and manage resources -- including mix of Marketing Communications agencies -- to deliver against plan, on time, on brand, and on budget.
  • *** Recommend and implement measurement criteria for all programs and projects.

Qualifications
The qualified candidate will demonstrate the following:

*** Minimum 5 years experience in integrated marketing communications.

*** Bachelor's degree required (Journalism, English, Marketing preferred).

*** Proven ability to develop and recommend integrated branding and communications strategies linked to corporate, business, and product strategies.

*** Demonstrated ability to develop and implement complex branding and communications programs, including product launches.

*** Experience in developing on-line and off-line integrated media and PR plans with Marketing Communications Agencies, and ability to maintain strong working relationships with strategic Agency partners.

*** Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply product positioning, branding, and corporate identity concepts across all branding and marketing communications disciplines

*** Exceptional writing skills with demonstrated ability to discern key messages and distill complex concepts into audience-specific communications, including press releases, executive presentations, key message, Q-and-A and media briefing materials, web copy, sales and customer collateral copy, and advertising copy.

*** Strong public speaking, interview management, and spokesperson capabilities.

*** Demonstrated knowledge of trademark and legal considerations for communications activities.

*** Cross-functional leadership and facilitation skills

*** Ability to team quickly and effectively with a variety of people and agencies.

*** Commitment to meet all deadlines with highest quality deliverables with constant attention to budget adherence.

*** Strong project management skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities.

*** Demonstrated knowledge of market segment products, competitors, and industry landscape.

*** Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply product positioning, branding, and corporate identity concepts across all branding and marketing communications disciplines

Education
  • Bachelors Degree - Required (MarComm/Public Relations, Marketing-- Brand Mgmt, Marketing-- General)
Experience
  • 5-10 Years - Required (MarComm/Public Relations)
