Brand Marketing Intern

Job Overview
In this role you will design and build an execution plan for short-term, growth oriented marketing strategies for the Memorex brand. You will focus on gathering consumer insights and incorporating them into key marketing activities. A dynamic, results-oriented person with a background in consumer product marketing and/or brand management is the target for the position. Also, this position is well suited to individuals with strong general business experience and proven leadership skill

Responsibilities
  • There are two marketing projects being considered for this internship role:
  • 1) Winning our Target Consumer: Memorex recently redefined its target consumer. This project will focus on profiling the target consumer, establishing forums to communicate with the consumer and generating word-of-mouth advocacy. The candidate will benchmark other companies and conduct market research in order to gain the insight necessary to effectively market to the target.
  • 2) Tween Electronics: This project will focus on defining an electronics product offering aimed at 9 to 12 year olds – Tweens. This group has increasing influence over parents purchase decisions, is computer savvy, and is distinctive compared to teens and young children. As part of this project, the candidate will identify key trends, define product and marketing strategies that link with the trends, and build an implementation plan.

Skills
  • Skill Requirements:
  • Strong business acumen – general business management mindset
  • Effective communication – superior written and oral communication skills
  • Analytical – strong quantitative thinking skills
  • Technical Knowledge – ability to quickly master technical information
  • Experience and Education Requirements:
  • Consumer marketing experience – Two or more years with a leading consumer product company preferred.
  • Leadership position – Product Management or Brand Management experience preferred.
  • Currently in Business-School.
Education
  • Bachelors Degree - Required
  • Masters Degree - Preferred (Business - MBA)
Experience
  • 0-3 Years - Required
