Imation is committed to offering a comprehensive portfolio of removable data storage products to the Federal Government through its GSA Schedule or dealers' schedules. In particular, the flash and optical markets are both very dynamic with manufacturing facilities around the world. Imation has taken the extra step to work exclusively with TAA compliant suppliers to develop an exclusive portfolio of optical and flash products on its GSA Schedule.

What does TAA Compliant mean?
TAA is the acronym for Trade Agreements Act, TAA Compliant means that a product is originated or substantially transformed in a Federal Trade Agreements (FTA) designated country. A Federal Trade Agreements designated country is a country that currently has a Federal Trade Agreement with the United States of America.

Why does having TAA Compliant products matter?
The General Services Administration or the GSA is the procurement arm of the Federal government. The GSA requires that GSA Schedule/Contract holders, such as Imation and many of our dealers and resellers, certify to sell products that originate or are substantially transformed in designated countries that are party to the Federal Trade Agreements with the United States.

What is Imation doing to meet these requirements?
In addition to Imation's broad magnetic tape portfolio, Imation has taken steps to offer the Federal government a TAA compliant source for optical products (CD-R, CD-RW and DVD) and Flash technologies. And, in response to the government agency need for portable storage, Imation offers two TAA compliant removable hard disk storage systems.
