IMATION DEVICES ARE SELF DEFENDING, DESIGNED TO COMBAT OR COUNTERACT VARIOUS THREATS.
IMS devices were designed to fight various threats, not only from malicious software intrusion but also tampering attempts.
SOFTWARE THREATS
Your Imation device has firmware that protects against software threats such as viruses and other malware. The technology of the built-in Imation Stealth Processor includes digital signatures that ensure that the firmware and software can’t be tampered with or changed by malicious code. User data is further protected by the optional Imation ACCESS Antivirus Scanner.
DATA DESTRUCTION
Your Imation device can be programmed to initiate data destruct by securely erasing the device’s encryption keys when too many authentication attempts fail.
READ-ONLY MODE
The user has the ability to boot up in read-only mode, which will prevent any viruses from modifying any information on the device.
PHYSICAL IMPASSIBILITY
Ultrasonic welding is used on our tamper-evident enclosures. Additionally, a one-way latching system on metal-bodied Imation devices means that the parts fit together on assembly but are impossible to disassemble without revealing the intrusion.
CRITICAL INFORMATION
All security-relevant material is stored in the secure environment of the powerful on-board Imation Stealth Processor.
