FAQ: ACCESS Enterprise

What is ACCESS Enterprise and what benefits result from its use?
ACCESS Enterprise is a software package that offers a managed deployment of Defender devices. Benefits are:
Control device configurations and corporate security policies that determine how devices can be used. Provide help desk support when necessary for end users who have problems authenticating. Perform data recovery operations on a device for audit and compliance reasons. Provide optional antivirus protection on the Defender devices.

What products are supported with ACCESS Enterprise?
Support is provided for the Defender Collection of devices, including the F100, F150, F200 + Bio flash drives and the H100 and H200 + Bio hard drives.

When the data on a Defender F50 flash drive is no longer needed it can be cleared. What is the procedure to do this?

Unlike the F100, F150 and F200 Defender drives, there is no “recycle” operation or icon to clear the F50 device. To completely clear the writable portion of the drive, simply do a format operation from Windows Explorer. This will remove all files, both encrypted and non-encrypted. This also clears the assigned password and initial setup will again be required.

Selective removal of files can be accomplished by highlighting a file name and using the Delete key on the keyboard. Alternatively, the delete operation from within the SecurFlash wrapper can be used, following a successful login operation to the device. The procedure is the same for encrypted or non-encrypted files.

When a flash drive or flash card is viewed with Windows Explorer, the capacity is less than the advertised capacity. For example, an 8GB flash drive may show 7.44GB when formatted with no data on the device.

This condition is normal and may apply to USB flash drives or flash cards...
