Software Update:
Imation's Security Manager 2.x software for the Micro Hard Drive is now available. Upgrading to Security Manager 2.x will require the customer to restart the synchronization process. Files that have been synchronized to the Imation Micro Hard Drive using the Imation Security Manager 1.2 software will not be recognized by the Imation Security Manager 2.x software.
Customers currently using Imation Security Manager 1.2 must execute the following steps in order to upgrade to Imation Security Manager 2.x:
- Un-install Imation Security Manager 1.2
- Say 'Yes' to 'Do you want to delete Sync file list?' dialog during the un-install process
- Open the Imation Micro Hard Drive from Windows Explorer or Macintosh Finder and delete the folder named 'sync'. Deleting this folder will remove all the synchronized files and any existing versions of the files stored to the drive.
- Install Imation Security Manager 2.x
- Start the file synchronization process again.
Security Manager Software:
For maximum reliability and file security, the Imation Security Manager Software offers password protection, 128-bit encryption (to prevent unauthorized access), and innovative File Synchronization, which automatically creates a backup copy of your data.

Imation's Security Manager Software for the Micro Hard Drive has the following system requirements:
- Mac 10.2 and above (ISM 1.2 is not compatible with Tiger)
- Windows ME, 2000, XP or higher
- Not compatible with Linux
