High End PCs | Harsh Environments | Kiosks & Custom Systems | Storage Arrays (RAID)
Why SSD?
In high end PC environments, where large files and / or detailed graphics are used, time is of the essence.
An SSD is faster than the fastest hard disk drive (HDD) - booting, loading and opening files almost
instantly. For example, Imation SSDs powered by Mtron boot Windows XP up to four times as fast as an
HDD*, and they have an average access time of 0.1 msec.
And because an SSD emulates an HDD, it can easily be inserted into the existing SATA drive bay and
recognized by the computer, operating system and application as a standard HDD --- so it can be used
without fear of compatibility issues.
